Gwyneth Paltrow Considered Retirement

Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow considered retiring at the age of 31 because she had "no interest in making movies any more". The Sliding Doors star took a career hiatus following the birth of her first child, Apple, in 2004 with husband Chris Martin.

Paltrow remained on her self-imposed maternity leave until after the birth of the couple's second child, Moses, in 2006. And the 35-year-old admits she considered never going back to the film business.

She says, "I thought about doing that (retiring) because I really felt that way. I had no interest in making movies any more. I didn't know if it would ever come back. And as it turns out, it did. I didn't die. I'm not being resurrected. But I never want to work in the same way I worked in my former life. Never. It's too expensive for me to be away (from my children)."
