No matter where you live, there is a festival, concert or movie screening nearby. This guide will help you find the perfect summer evening event in your community. Whether you're interested in sampling local cuisine, catching a classic movie, buying some original art or just listening to live music, there always is something entertaining happening in your area.
Bands, movies planned for LaumeierRelax with local bands and classic movies in the midst of Laumeier Sculpture Park's large-scale sculptures. The outdoor event premiered in 2007 and is just one of the park's outdoor entertainment events during the year.
A local band will take the stage at 7 p.m. each night, followed by an outdoor movie. The series will kick off Saturday with a performance by musician Kim Massie and a screening of "Grease."
In the case of rain or severe weather, the event will be rescheduled for Saturday, June 28. A schedule of musicians and movies is available online.
Where: The Laumeier Outdoor Music Amphitheater located in Laumeier Sculpture Park in Sunset Hills.
When: June 13, 20 and 27. Music starts at 7 p.m. and the movie screenings will begin at 8:30 p.m.
Tip: Vendors will be selling food and beverages. However, picnic baskets and lawn chairs are encouraged.
