Victor Willis: Leaves hospital after surgery

Victor Willis, the lead singer of "Village People" has been released from a San Diego hospital on Monday after undergoing surgery on his throat. He hopes that he can sing again before the end of the year.

Victor Willis said in a statement, "I feel great and look forward to performing before the end of the year, but I can't say for sure".

The original lead singer of the 1970s disco band has undergone an operation to remove nodules from his vocal cords earlier this month.

The singer's doctor told him that he can't sing atleast for 90 days. Victor Willis' spokeswoman Linda Smith said that the singer has already started talking and his voice "sounds almost normal".

The "Village People" has been formed in 1977, and the group has sold more than 80 million albums and singles.

Victor Willis' hit songs include "Y.M.C.A" and "Macho Man".
