DELHI: The results ofthe CBSE class X examination for the Chennai region including Karnataka arelikely to be announced onMay 27.
For the rest of the country the results of the CBSEclass X examination will beout on May 29.
“We have received a request from the southern region to declare the resultsearly and we are considering it.The results for Chennai region may be out onMay 27 or latest by May 28,”CBSE Chairman AshokGanguly toldDeccan Herald.
Official date
“The official date forpublishing the Class-X results is May 29. Results ofone or two regions could beout a day or two earlier.Theresults will be available inthe internet from 8 am,”MrAshok Ganguly said.
The Central Board ofSecondary Education(CBSE) on Friday announced the results forClass XII examinationsheld in March, registeringan overall pass percentageof 80.91 per cent.
The CBSE results forChennai, Ajmer andPanchkula regions have already been announced onMay 21.
This was a marginal increase from last year’s 80.64per cent,Mr Ashok Ganguly told reporters here announcing the all India results.
Chennai tops
Out of the six exam regions, Chennai topped thelist of pass percentage with91.39 per cent followed byAjmer (85.18 per cent), Delhi (83.69), Panchkula(80.80), Allahabad (75.23)and Guwahati (63.24).
Except for Allahabad and Panchkula regionswhich recorded a dip intheir pass percentage, allother regions improvedtheir results this year compared to last year.
Girls outshone boys yetagain in the examinations,recording an impressivepass percentage of 85.44per cent. Boys were sevenper cent down with a passpercentage of 77.59 percentage.
A total of 384 students,including 193 girls, scoredover 95 per cent marks inthe examinations while8,252 students managed tocross the 90 per cent mark.Among those who scoredover 90 per cent marks,girls were 4,190.
Increase in per cent
There was an increaseof 0.27 per cent in the number of candidates who registered for the examinations. A total of 5,49,344candidates registered forthe exams.
