Large Format Printers for Professionals

Epson's new large format, 8-colour professional production printers -- Stylus Pro 4880 (17-inch), Stylus Pro 7880 (24-inch), and Stylus Pro 9880 (44-inch) -- feature the Epson UltraChrome K3 ink with Vivid Magenta technology.

Together with this image processing technology, Epson increases their color gamut, adds vibrancy, and reduces graininess to provide unrivalled image quality from an 8-colour inkjet, says the company.

Epson says that its UltraChrome K3 Ink with Vivid Magenta technology is intended to meet the demands of top photography exhibitors, fine art dealers, commercial print retailers, and even precision-driven mapping agencies.

The 3 printers also include Epson's super halftone technology and an image processing engine for dot mapping. It's meant to promote even tonal transition and enhance shadow detail, critical in black and white prints.

The Epson large format printer range is meant to offer superior media flexibility. It's compatible with a wide range of paper up to 1.5mm in thickness. Most papers like glossy, matte, matte board, fine art, as well as plain paper are supported. The new 8-colour large format printers, comes standard with a roll holder and cut sheet support.

Responding to requirements of the modern professional production environment, the new range of printers features network-ready support via built-in Ethernet support.
